A bombastic survey of 327 PR professionals from Germany and Switzerland proves it impressively: a third of the respondents-fabulous 33 percent! - sees false reports as the greatest risk factor. What does that mean for the companies? A critical location for everyone who moves in the communication landscape.
The top crisis triggers in view
But that's not all! 32 percent of the experts state that the secret covering of errors can drive crisis development at rapid speed. And the personal misconduct of managers? That worries 28 percent of those surveyed and is another alarm sign!
Without question, the digital space is a powder barrel! 25 percent of communication experts describe shitstorms on social media as the most dangerous threat in times of crisis. A cyber attack or other criminal acts against the company even drive 23 percent of the respondents into the crisis. The hot search for transparency becomes a struggle for survival!
About 10 percent of PR specialists see investigations by the public prosecutor or incorrect products as a threat. The violation of data protection is also an alarming signal for 10 percent. While natural disasters such as earthquakes or storms are just 6 percent of those surveyed as crisis triggers - and defamation from competitors only 3 percent - it is clear: the greatest fear comes from misconduct and misinformation!
