Advent market in the Charlottenburg town hall: Complete heart wishes for kids

An exciting event is imminent! On 27. November 2024 The Charlottenburg town hall is transformed from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. into a winter wonderland during this year's Advent market! District Mayor Kirstin Bauch, district councilor Detlef Wagner and district councilor Arne Herz open this festive market in the foyer and ring in the contemplative time. And that's not all-at the same time the heart-warming desired tree campaign 2024 begins!

The one -day Advent market offers a variety of products made by employees in workshops and kitchens of non -profit organizations. These facilities actively campaign for the integration of people with disabilities or mental illnesses, which are often difficult to find a place in the labor market. Visitors can look forward to a colorful range of advent decorations and gifts while they can get to know the people behind the products. This special event is organized by the Citizens' Services and Social Affairs department.

Desired tree campaign for young refugees

A very special highlight is the desired tree campaign , which makes 140 children and young people from accommodation for unaccompanied minor refugees. This great initiative is supported by committed soldiers of the 5th company of the guard battalion at the Federal Ministry of Defense, which decorate the tree with lovingly tinkered stars. The stars are more than just jewelry - they wear the children's heart and adolescents.

Anyone who wants to help can pick these stars in the town hall and thus sponsor for a heart's desire. The gifts can cost up to 25 euros and are a wonderful way to give the children a pleasure. The spacious sponsors can then give their gifts up to 13. December unpacked, together with the desired star, in the gatekeeper lodge of the town hall.

It is particularly gratifying that employees of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, a leading medical technology company based in the BerlinBiotechpark in Charlottenburg, take over part of the wishes. Their support makes the Christmas season brighter and happier for many children.

The lovingly packaged gifts are prepared directly on site in the accommodation. The small recipients are received on Christmas Eve and can unpack their surprises. A real reason to joy in this contemplative time!
