The Seestrasse underground station has been extensively renovated and barrier-free has been expanded since 2019. The focus is currently on work on the western platform because the 101 -year -old train station needs a drastic renovation. According to Berliner Kurier the platform and the stairs must be completely demolished and rebuilt. As a result, passengers who come from the direction of Tegel have to drive to the underground stations Leopoldplatz or Wedding in order to then change and return. This also means for the city traveling in the city that they only have to drive in the opposite direction to the Rehberge underground station.
The BVG also announced that not only the U6 is affected. There are also construction sites on other lines to force passengers to change. The Senefelderplatz underground station has only been reached to a limited extent since 5. January to March 21st to March 5th to March 21st, while changes are also necessary on the U3 between Fehrbelliner Platz and Breitenbachplatz. Berlin commuters have to adjust to other creative solutions to achieve their goals.
