Rioters in Marienfelde: Who is attacking the police and traffic here?
In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old man was arrested in Marienfelde yesterday afternoon after vandalizing cars and construction site signs. Witnesses reported that the rioter damaged the exterior mirror of a parked vehicle on Daimlerstrasse around 1:45 p.m. and threw hazardous waste onto the street, endangering a cyclist.
When the police arrived, the man reacted aggressively, offered massive resistance and tried to bite and headbutt officers. With a breath alcohol level of around 1.5 per mille, he was taken to police custody to determine his identity, where his blood was taken. A police officer was injured in the arm during the arrest. The man was later taken to the psychiatric ward of a hospital. Investigations into resistance and dangerous interference with road traffic are ongoing.
