Yesterday evening in Reinickendorf there was a violent incident that sent a 31-year-old to the hospital. At 7:50 p.m., calls for help alerted the police. On Klenzepfad the officers encountered a 33-year-old man who was holding a knife in his hand. After naming his service weapons, he put down the knife and was arrested.
The 31-year-old was found in the building with serious facial injuries that appeared to have been caused by the arrestee's knife. Emergency doctors immediately rescued him to the hospital, where he had to undergo surgery and lost his vision in one eye. The 33-year-old, injured in both hands, received outpatient treatment, was then taken into police custody for identification and finally released. The investigation into the exact course of the altercation is still ongoing.
