A dramatic traffic accident occurred in Prenzlauer Berg yesterday afternoon, in which an e-scooter driver was critically injured. A 61-year-old driver was driving along Greifswalder Straße with the green light at around 5:10 p.m. when two 21-year-olds crossed the pedestrian crossing on their e-scooter at a red light. There was a violent collision at the busy intersection that had shocking consequences.
The e-scooter driver required emergency surgery and remains in hospital for inpatient treatment, while his passenger was treated as an outpatient with superficial wounds. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed. A specialized police department for traffic offenses has now taken over the investigation into the incident.
