The Alexian Group, one of the largest denominational health and social economics companies in Germany, was able to increase its turnover to over two billion euros last year. This is a milestone for the company that has decided on a growth strategy for several years. Through increased cooperation between spatially nearby houses, synergies are achieved and regional growth is promoted.
The successful development of the four business areas of the company, including somatic and psychiatric hospitals, medical care centers as well as facilities of the senior citizens', integration and youth welfare, contributed significantly to the increase in sales. The integration of the Aachen Marienhospital on January 1, 2023 and the foundation of four allies that are intended to improve the cooperation between the regions contributed to this positive result.
The number of employees increased for the first time well over 30,000, more precisely to 31,300 on December 31, 2023. This shows not only the growth of the company, but also the importance of the Alexian group as an employer in the health and social economy.
The positive sales development and strengthening the allies lay a solid foundation for the future of the company. Nevertheless, there are also imponderables such as price increases, the shortage of skilled workers and political decisions that are not always understandable.
