The telecommunications provider 1 & 1 Versatel offers more than 650 companies in Moers access to fast internet. In a declaration of liability, the company committed itself to expanding three areas in the city with fiber fiber by 2026. 1 & 1 Versatel assumes the costs for the civil engineering work, the house connection as well as the Installation and the activation of the technical equipment, so that the company does not incur any construction costs during the expansion.

The expansion concerns the "Eurotec-Ring" industrial area in the north of the city, the "Genend" industrial area in the west and the industrial area above Rheurdter Strasse in the west of Moers.
