Womanx Collective: New program to promote women's health in Berlin

Berlin becomes a stronghold for women's health! On October 14, the UN population fund (UNFPA) presented a revolutionary program at the World Health Summit-the "Womenex Collective". This ambitious project aims to support women worldwide, especially in countries with low and medium -sized incomes, where current health offers are often frighteningly inadequate.

In a gripping joint initiative with the charismatic Charité - University Medical Center Berlin and the Berlin Institute of Health in the Charité (BIH), a first center in Berlin is opened to become part of a global network. This network will concentrate entirely on the promotion of sexual and reproductive health. Dr. Natalia Kanem, the unfpa executive director, expresses urgency: "Every minute die two or more women worldwide due to inadequate health care!"

a first crucial step

With initial funding commitments from important international partners, including the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) and Organon & Co., the “Womenex Collective” program will endeavor to spend the impressive sum of at least $ 100 million in investments by 2030. These funds are crucial to support women's health projects and to develop innovative solutions on site. The goal? Prevent from 10.4 million unwanted pregnancies and more than 21,000 mothers!

Not only the financial commitment is crucial. "The health of women is still little researched and financed," says Prof. Dr. Heyo K. Kroemer from the Charité. "Strong partnerships are essential for the sustainable coping of these challenges." Hence the hope of global cooperation that not only wants to include Berlin, but also Nairobi in the network by 2025.

an appeal to society

In addition, a key message is transmitted at the event: "We have to invest in the health of women!", Explains Dr. Nigina Muntean, Chief of Innovation at UNFPA. The potential economic yields are overwhelming - allegedly, any euro invested could bring back to 7 euros. It is a cry for change - it is time that women receive first -class medical care they earn!

Top -class guests are expected at the opening of the ceremonial opening, including Dr. Bärbel Kofler, Parliamentary State Secretary, as well as representatives of the German health sector and representative of interests from the global south. A clear sign: Time is ripe for a strong commitment.
