Wolfsburg's Woodscraper: Sustainable wooden high -rise buildings for a new living
A groundbreaking construction project takes on shapes! In the heart of Wolfsburg, the groundbreaking ceremony for the spectacular Woodscraper was set, two innovative wooden high -rise buildings that heralds a new era of living. Federal Minister of Construction Klara Geywitz celebrated this special moment and gave the official starting signal for a future -oriented project of the GLS Bank. The impressive towers should be built by 2026 - and they will be the first of their kind in Germany!
A total of 8,000 square meters of living space and 106 residential units await the Wolfsburgers, who think of the present but also the future when building. "The WoodScraper stand for sustainable architecture and social living concept. 45 percent of the apartments are supported by social support and they are largely barrier -free," says Geywitz.
a pioneering project for sustainable building
geywitz emphasized: "These wooden high -rise buildings are not only magnificent, but also clever!" These two buildings show how circular construction succeeds - materials are dismantled and serve as valuable raw materials according to their life cycle. End of garbage - all the building materials used by the WoodScraper appear in the material bank that grows every year!
"Our mission is to set an example!" Said Dirk Kancher, board member of GLS Bank. "Ecologically sustainable and socially just projects have to be promoted. We have the responsibility to design future solutions!"
Mayor Dennis Weilmann enthusiastically: "The Woodscraper will be a lively, neighborly center in Wolfsburg! We are proud to realize such a remarkable construction project!"
The living dreams of the future
The WoodScraper not only offer apartments for all generations, but also shared areas that invite you to linger. A café, a roof terrace and beautiful outdoor facilities are planned. "A place where you would like to live is created here," enthuses the minister.
