in Kleinmachnow and in the south of Berlin there was great excitement when an animal was sighted that was initially considered a lioness. However, it has now been confirmed that 100 percent is a wild boar. The municipality of Kleinmachnow announced the results of the laboratory examination on Wednesday.

Already on Monday it was announced after analyzing a fecal sample that it was a herbivorous animal, most likely a wild boar. Now the final result is also available. In a press release it was announced: “Already on Tuesday it was clear that the DNA fragments that were extracted from the feces come 100 percent of a wild boar. Today, the result of the hair analysis is also available, and the comparison of the DNA confirms the already carried out microscopic examination, as the official veterinarian of the Veterinary Office Potsdam-Mittelmark will also tell us today. Found hair clearly assigned to a wild boar. ”

The elaborate use of police officers, hunters and veterinarians began last Thursday when a cell phone video appeared on which a lionin was said to be seen. The assignment was finally stopped on Friday afternoon, since no evidence of a predator in the forest was found. In addition, after the evaluation of the video images, two experts explained that it was most likely a wild boar.

The original suspicion of a lionin donated the video, which quickly caused a sensation. However, the animal, which was ultimately identified as a wild boar, could not be found. The authorities found that the animal had no danger and ended the use.

The wild boar caused great interest in the region and beyond. The wrong assumption that it was a lioness led to an intensive search and discussions. Now the excitement is over and the residents of Kleinmachnow and the south of Berlin can be reassured that no dangerous predator strips around in their area.
