Wernigerodes GWW commissioned Alessio-B for unique 3-D graffities on plate buildings

love and peace are the basic topics of the Italian street artist Alessio-B. For his latest murals, he was inspired by the prefabricated buildings of the building and housing construction company Wernigerode mbH. At the GWW locations Wernigerode-Stadtfeld and Burgbreite, Alessio-B created unique 3-D graffiti, which become real eye-catchers on the white facades. With this art campaign, the GWW continues its approach to contributing to the vitalization of the prefabricated construction areas with art. Last year, pop art artist Moritz Götze created a colorful enamel wall design in the Stadtfeld district.

The murals from Alessio-B are another step to design the quarter individually and to create new architectural highlights. The GWW managing director Christian Zeizermann emphasizes that art creates identity and orientation in the construction and is therefore of great importance. During Alessio-B's three-day work, there were already positive reactions from the residents who created the wall motifs in stencil technology.

The 52-year-old Alessio-B discovered his love for street art during his architecture studies in Venice and on his travels through Europe. After getting to know the works of Blek Le Rat and Banksy in Paris and London, he decided to enter the world of street art himself. Today Alessio-B works with numerous art galleries in Italy, Europe and the rest of the world.

Wernigerodes Mayor Tobias Kascha praises the art campaign of the GWW and emphasizes that the street art of Alessio-B can create new curiosity and interest in quarters that have so far rarely been on the tourist schedule. Christian Zeizermann is convinced that the murals become new attractions in the GWW quarter. They are part of the efforts of the GWW to create individual city rooms and exciting architecture.

The building and housing association Wernigerode mbH manages almost 3,000 residential units with a total living area of 176,000 square meters in the Harz Metropolis Wernigerode. Around 7,500 of the approximately 34,000 Wernigeröder live at the GWW. The GWW also manages 28 commercial units and is the client of the new August-Hermann-Francke elementary school in Wernigerode.

The murals from Alessio-B are a successful example of how tradition and modernity can be combined in Wernigerode. The city would like to present itself as a "colorful city on the Harz" and set new accents with art in public space. With its art campaign, the GWW takes an important step to breathe new life into its prefabricated buildings and create an attractive environment.
