World Heritage Site: Berlin celebrates the UNESCO World Heritage Day 2025!
Berlin, Deutschland - On May 26, 2025, the preparations for the upcoming UNESCO World Heritage Day, which will take place on June 1, 2025, approach the climax. Berlin will participate in this important event with a versatile program that includes all three of its world heritage sites: the Museum Island Berlin, the settlements of Berlin Modernity and the Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin. Christian Gaebler, Senator for Urban Development, emphasizes the national and international reputation of these sites and emphasizes that the focus is on existing and potential world sites in Berlin.
It is particularly worth mentioning that the castles and gardens of Potsdam and Berlin, which have been a world heritage since 1990, give special insights. During the event, the peacock island, the freshly restored castle, the dairy and the Beelitzer hunting screen, open their doors. On the museum island of Berlin, which has been recognized as a world heritage since 1999, the festive stone of the foundation stone of the Old Museum will take place from May 30th to June 1st on the occasion of the 200th anniversary. Guided tours in the settlements of the Berlin modernity, which have been world heritage since 2008, offer visitors the opportunity to discover the architectural highlights of these sites.diverse activities in Berlin

These events offer insights into the architecture and urban planning, which were developed in both East and West Berlin.
dr. Christoph Rauhut, state conservator, thanks the committed actors and associations in advance of the implementation of this program. The motto of the UNESCO World Heritage Day is "conveying, connecting, inspiring" and marks the 20th repeat of the day on which the German UNESCO World Heritage Sites open their doors to interested visitors.
