Traffic restrictions in Berlin: hemp parade, car collar and demonstrations ensure road closures on the weekend
The Berliners will have to prepare for traffic restrictions next weekend, as various events and demonstrations take place in the city. Here is an overview of the road closures:
On Saturday there are traffic restrictions in Berlin-Mitte from 11 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. due to a demonstration on Indian Independence Day. The areas under the Linden, Brandenburg Gate and Schloßplatz are affected.
The hemp parade also takes place from 12 noon to 10 p.m. in Berlin-Mitte. Under the motto "Hanfparade is great for peace and climate", 4000 participants are expected. For this reason, Spandauer Straße and Rathausstraße will be closed on Saturday from 6 a.m. to Sunday 4 a.m. There is a large -scale ban on holding. From 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., Karl-Liebknecht-Straße between Dirksenstraße and the Street Am Lustgarten is also closed.
The Hanfparade demonstration train starts at 12 p.m. in Spandauerstrasse, between Karl-Liebknecht-Straße and Rathausstraße. From there, the route leads via Wilhelmstrasse, Otto-von-Bismarck-Allee, Rahel-Hirsch-Straße to Oranienburger Straße. The move ends again in Spandauerstrasse.
in Wedding to Plänterwald, a car and bicycle body will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for "peace with Russia" and "end with the US foreign rule". The participants start at S-Bahnhof Wollankstraße and drive, among other things, via Invalidenstrasse, Friedrichstrasse, Schlesische Straße to Bulgarian Strasse.
On Sunday there are again demonstrations in Berlin-Mitte. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. the peace march for "world peace, freedom, sovereignty" between Pariser Platz and the subway station Unter den Linden takes place. Here too, traffic restrictions can occur.
It is advisable to avoid these affected roads and, if necessary, choose alternative routes to avoid traffic jams and delays. The closures mentioned apply according to the Berlin Transport Information Center.
