Verdi boss Werneke criticizes employer: responsibility is missing for reforms
The service union boss Frank Werneke draws sharp lines! On the occasion of the German employer day, the words of the Verdi chairman have a clear message: the employers' associations are responsible! "There is a lot of ambiguous bashing, while your own responsibility of the economy is ignored far often," complains Werneke in an interview with Phoenix. It is criticized too easily, but where is the insight that fundamentally investments in our infrastructure are urgently needed?
Werneke emphasizes that there is a massive investment gap - "in the public infrastructure, in traffic routes, into the education system, in the energy transition". But where is the discussion about the financing of these essential projects? Instead, the BDA (Federal Association of German Employers' Associations) repeatedly withdraws from this responsibility. "We live under the dictation of the debt brake," says Werneke, who encourages this fact a clear foul game by the employer. "It is time that the employers finally take a clear, unidological Position and recognize the realities!"
The dispute over the pension package II
The waves hit up! Werneke of the BDA agrees with the government plans for hospital reform, but he strikes back on the controversial pension package II. "In my view, the criticism of this is completely unworthy!" A clear appeal! He warns of the dramatic consequences if the pension package II fails: "For future pensioners this means a further falling pension level." His finger clearly points to the BDA, which has apparently lost any sense of the reality of the hard -working population: "These people have to make rounds with a pension that is already much too low!"
Werneke leaves no doubt that it is now time for a rethink to secure the pension situation for the future. The interview will be released shortly on Phoenix.de and promises exciting insights into the hard arguments between unions and employers.
Berlin/Bonn - The discussion will continue and responsibility must finally be taken over!
