Berlin, Deutschland - in Berlin, on June 27, 2025, there was again massive restrictions in S-Bahn traffic due to violent storms. This is the second interruption within a week. The city is affected by heavy rainfall and stormy gusts that have flushed the rinsing trees and branches on the tracks. Yesterday's day, this resulted in the entire S-Bahn traffic at 6:20 p.m., since trains that were already on the go were waiting for the nearest train stations for the onward journey. Initial S-Bahn lines took up the company around 7:20 p.m., but the required exploration trips on further routes only started at 8:00 p.m. t-online.de reported.

The Berlin Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) also reported restrictions on bus and tram traffic. The storm warned the German Weather Service (DWD) of hurricane -like gusts at speeds of up to 110 km/h. Overall, it was a dramatic event, since the fire brigade reported over 300 missions, including an injured pedestrian in Heiligensee. There were serious damage to the previous storms who searched for Berlin on Monday, with a woman died when a tree fell on her car and several people were partly seriously injured.

restrictions in S-Bahn and regional traffic

The effects of the storms can still be felt today: Several S-Bahn routes such as lines S1, S2, S3, S8, S9, S25 and S75 are blocked, especially in the north of Berlin. The S26 and S85 do not drive either. For affected passengers, replacement traffic was set up by buses that run between Schönholz and Hohen Neuendorf as well as between Hennigsdorf and Tegel. Regional transport is also affected, with failures and delays in the lines RB21, RB55 as well as between Golm and Hennigsdorf and on the Re6 from Hennigsdorf to Charlottenburg, such as rbb24.de reported.

In addition, there were long -distance restrictions, especially on the route between Berlin and Hanover, since the overhead line between Hanover and Stendal must be repaired. This work is expected to continue until midday. It is positive that the route to Hamburg was released again.

continuous developments

The situation is still dynamic and road users are asked to regularly find out about the current timetable changes on the S-Bahn Berlin website. These measures are not surprising during the complicated phase of storms, since the general disorders also include planned construction sites and timetable adjustments. All construction work and bus replacement traffic are listed on the official website of the S-Bahn Berlin (Sbahn.berlin).

passengers should be aware that these storms not only bring short -term disruptions, but can also have longer -term effects on the infrastructure that is used more intensely during the summer months. The S-Bahn and other transport companies are working hard to restore the usual service as soon as possible.
