Future for Plänterwald: New concept for sustainable urban development

The future of Plänterwald - a revolutionary interior development concept sees the light of the world! Since August 2024, under the watchful eye of the Treptow-Köpenick district, a pioneering concept has been worked on, which should set the course for the settlement development of this Berlin district!

This is about more than just new apartments! The planned internal development concept - IEK for short - aims to further develop the existing area of ​​Plänterwald not only socially but also in a climate. This should become significant: affordable living space is the requirement of the hour, and the neighborhood should become a place worth living in for all citizens. The areas for their potential for additional residential development are already being examined. And that is by no means everything - social infrastructure, health care as well as green oases and commercial offers are also taken into account!

a comprehensive analysis of the district

A 98 -hectare area of ​​investigation is closely examined. In the north it borders on the popular Treptower Park, the Plänterwald connects in the east, and west of the S-Bahn route pulls its train-a perfect place for development! Existing infrastructure deficits are also included in the considerations in order to improve the mobility of the residents. For one or two selected areas, potential and opportunities should be worked out so that social and structural development can be optimally designed.

The urban development office is supported by Kosp GmbH, an experienced coordination office for urban development and project management. The first results of this great project are to be presented in spring 2025. In this way, the development remains transparent and the citizens can soon hand in their opinions and suggestions from September 27, 2024 on Mein.berlin.de! All committed ones are called for discussion, a public event in October 2024 will also offer space for the exchange.

A comprehensive citizen participation system is planned where the voice of the residents counts! The announcements are supported by throwing shipments and notices in the area - nothing remains hidden for the citizens of Plänterwald!

This initiative did not arise from nowhere! The IEK is the result of a participatory process that started in 2021 with the integrated urban development concept (ISEK). In addition, the findings from the "Grüner Anger" open space concept from 2023 and the "Traffic examination Baumschulenstrasse" also flow into the planning.
