Open-Air exhibition: The old market in historical views

On Friday, February 16, 2024, the open-air exhibition "From the market square to the city square-the old market in historical views" will open on the green area between Museum Köpenick and the Köpenick center library. The exhibition, which will be open all day until April 30, 2024, invites you to learn more about the history of the old market and offers insights into the past by means of historical photographs. The square was built in 2008 as part of the old town renovation and is now a cultural attraction for old and young.

The old market refers to the city history of Köpenicher and a market used in the Middle Ages. Some of the oldest buildings in Köpenick are located here, such as the half -timbered house from 1665, in which the Köpenick Museum is now housed. The exhibition shapes the space between half -timbered gables and brick architecture and gives an overview of the changes that have taken place over time. The historical photographs show which treasures hide in the archive of the museum and provide insights into the past of the old market.
