Sustainability walk in Akacienkiez: Companies show commitment
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Berlin invited representatives from politics and business development as part of the Sustainability Week 2024 to a neighborhood walk through the Akazienkiez. Under the motto "neighborhood of sustainability", the participants visited various companies that actively get involved in sustainability and thus make an important contribution to society. District Mayor Jörn Oltmann emphasized the importance of the local commitment of companies for sustainable urban development in Akacienkiez. The participants received an insight into the production of bags from recycled leather at Meyburg Taschen Upcycling, found out about sustainable fashion and accessories at Loveco Fashion and got to know the background of a full-time organic food.
The neighborhood walk offered the opportunity to exchange ideas with entrepreneurs about current challenges and to discuss common approaches for sustainable management. Practical implementations were presented in various industries and ideas for future initiatives were collected. Katrin Ohlmer, Managing Director of Dotberlin, emphasized the diversity and sustainability of the small shops in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district by the Kiezhelden initiative Kiezhelden.Berlin.
The future charta Grüner Hirsch ensures more visibility of sustainability issues and engagement in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district. Around 46 entrepreneurs have come together to form a local alliance to advance ecological management and innovative future projects. The Charter Grüner Hirsch serves as a format for knowledge transfer and networking. Interested parties can find out on the website of the future charta Grüner Hirsch.
The Future Charter Grüner Hirsch is funded as part of the GRW regional management and the joint task "Improvement of the regional economic structure" (GRW) with federal funds and funds from the State of Berlin and co-financed by the Senate Department for Finance. This underlines the commitment and support at the state level for sustainable projects and initiatives in Berlin.
Overall, the neighborhood walk and the Future Charter Grüner Hirsch illustrates the importance of sustainable management and local commitment to sustainable urban development and conscious use of resources. By networking companies and the exchange of sustainable practices, innovative solutions can be developed and implemented in order to make positive changes in society in the long term.
