A quantum leap for the district of Harz!

Telekom struck again! Just two months after the starting signal for a huge mobile phone project, the company raised the mobile phone supply in the Harz district to a completely new level. Two brand new locations sprout out of the ground, while three existing ones were upgraded to LTE and another to 5G. The mobile phone cover in this picturesque region is not only denser on the map, but also the reception in the home walls is given a considerable thrust!

"The need for bandwidth is constantly increasing - around 30 percent per year. That is why we continue to pace in mobile phone expansion," says Georg von Wagner, company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom, and sums it up: Mobility is more than just a keyword nowadays!

The new hotspots of digitization

Where exactly are these new digital hotspots located? In the municipalities of Elbingerode (Harz), Ermsleben, Falkenstein/Harz, Harzgerode, Huy and Pansfelde, they are ready to revolutionize mobile communication. If that doesn't sound like progress, then we don't know what to do!

But that's not all! With now 117 locations in the entire district of Harz, Telekom is almost at its goal: the household cover is now almost 100 percent. And it comes even better: Another 55 new locations are to go into operation by 2026. In addition, adjustments to 48 existing radio masts are planned to further advance LTE and 5G.

The future in view

Telekom relies on cooperation! In order to be able to implement the new locations, the company is dependent on the support of the municipalities and private area owners. If you have a suitable roof or a mast, you can contact the German radio tower directly.

With over 36,000 existing mobile communications locations and the goal of building around 1,500 new locations annually, Telekom shows that it is actively shaping the digital future!
