Telekom introduces legal steps against Höcke
Deutsche Telekom has denied a statement by the AfD politician Björn Höcke regarding an alleged earlier advertising slogan from the company and is examining legal steps. In a TV duel with the CDU politician Mario Voigt, Höcke claimed that in the past Telekom had used the sentence "Everything for Germany" as an advertising saying, which the company rejected as wrong.
The sentence mentioned is a forbidden solution of the SA, the paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP. Due to the use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke has to answer for the accusation of using indicators.
Last year, Telekom had already taken the AfD Federal Proterer Alice Weidel, after she also claimed that the group had used the sentence as an advertising slogan. Weidel was asked to refrain from this claim, whereupon she agreed to follow this in the future.
In the TV duel justified Höcke, who himself is a history teacher, his choice of words and stated that it was not known during the speech that it was a SA slogan. He described the sentence as a "common saying". Telekom emphasized the untruth of the claims and threatened legal steps, if necessary.
