Telekom is expanding mobile phone supply in Gotha district: more coverage, bandwidth and better reception signal

In the past two months, Telekom has further improved mobile phone supply in the Gotha district. The construction of a new location and the expansion of an existing location with 5G not only increased the area covering, but more bandwidth is now also available. The reception in buildings has also improved. The two locations are located in Leinatal and Trötelborn. The location in Leinatal also serves to supply along the A4 motorway.
"The need for bandwidth is constantly increasing - around 30 percent per year. That is why we continue to pace in mobile phone expansion," says Georg von Wagner, company spokesman Deutsche Telekom.
The current status and the outlook
Telekom already operates 64 mobile phone locations in the Gotha district and thus achieves a budget coverage of around 98 percent. A further 15 locations are to be added by 2026. In addition, extensions with LTE or 5G are planned at 29 radio masts.
Telekom works closely with the municipalities and owners to rent areas for new locations. The German radio tower is responsible for the construction of the Telekom mobile phone locations. Telekom currently operates more than 36,000 mobile phone locations and is planning the annual construction of around 1,500 new locations.
