Telekom has finally raised mobile phone supply to a new level! In the past two months, not only reception has been improved, but also the technology has been upgraded: two new LTE locations and a state-of-the-art 5G location have been installed. That means: more signal strength, faster internet speeds and better reception in houses and apartments - a real milestone for the region!

The decisive locations are located in the municipalities of Markkleeberg and Neukieritzsch. The location in Markkleeberg is particularly important for drivers along the A38 motorway, while the two locations are also well supplied with railway users on the Saxony-West route.

"The need for bandwidth is growing explosively - we are talking about around 30 percent a year here," explains Georg von Wagner, company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom. And Telekom plans to continue to accelerate! There are currently 123 mobile phone locations in the Leipzig district, which should mean that 99 percent of households can already be reached mobile. But that's not enough! A further 32 locations are to follow by 2026 and on 58 radio masts there are extensions with LTE or 5G in the pipeline.
