Telekom improves mobile phone supply in the Oder-Spree district

Mobile radio supply in the Oder-Spree district has improved, and this is of great importance for the residents and the economy of the region. In the past two months, Telekom has expanded two locations with 5G, which leads to better coverage and more bandwidth in the entire region. This also improves the reception in buildings. The two locations are located in Fürstenwalde/Spree and Grünheide. In addition, they are used to ensure better care along the A12 motorway and the Brandenburg-Nord-Berlin railway lines.

The increasing demand for bandwidth, which increases annually by around 30 percent annually, requires continuous expansion of the mobile network. That is why Telekom continues to focus on speed in mobile phone expansion, explains Georg von Wagner, company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom.

currently, Telekom runs 114 locations in the Oder-Spree district, and the household cover is almost 100 percent. A further 56 locations are to be added by 2025. In addition, extensions with LTE or 5G are planned at 31 radio masts. To implement this, Telekom is dependent on cooperation with the municipalities or the owners in order to rent areas for new locations. People who want to rent an area for a roof or mast location can contact the German radio tower that the mobile phone locations of Telekom is building.

Deutsche Telekom currently operates over 36,000 mobile phone locations and builds around 1,500 new locations annually. If you want to find out more about the availability of mobile communications at your place of residence, you will find more information at www.telekom.de/netz expansion.
