The unions ver.di and DJV have reached an agreement in the collective bargaining with the German Press Agency (dpa). From November 2024, tariffs will increase by 5 percent and from April 2025 by a further 2.5 percent. In addition, the approximately 800 employees receive an inflation compensation premium of a total of 2000 euros, which will be paid out in at least two steps from July 2024. Young editors who started their traineeship at dpa from 2018 will also receive a faster rise in the professional season of the salary collective agreement.
The tariff is a "balanced compromise" between sustainable tariff increases, fast payments through inflation compensation spaces and long-term improvements for young editors, according to the ver.di negotiator Matthias von Fintel.
The approval of the tariff result has already been received by the dpa bodies. Now the union collective bargaining bodies have to advise and agree.
