Strong school start: New project strengthens children in Reinickendorf!
The transition from the daycare to primary school represents a significant development step for children and their families. However, in particular in socially structurally disadvantaged regions of the Reinickendorf district, there are special challenges. In order to meet these requirements, the cooperation project "Geh³ - together, healthy, strengthened from daycare to school" will start on July 11, 2025, which should offer comprehensive support for children during school crossing. The aim of the project is to strengthen children emotionally, socially and healthy and to intensify the cooperation between daycare centers, schools and families. The project is promoted by the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK), the state of Berlin as part of the Health Action Program and through district own funds, such as [berlin.de] (https://www.berlin.de/ba-reinickendorf/aktuelles/Pressemaytreungen/2025/Pressemage Department 1579502.php)
experts indicate the results of the school examinations that show a need for support in the areas of emotional stability, social participation as well as linguistic and motor development. This underlines the urgency of early preventive measures. The project should therefore strengthen pedagogical specialists through targeted further training, workshops, parents' evenings and specialist days. The basis of these initiatives forms the guideline "Healthy from the daycare center to school" and the practical concept of the Berlin Kita Institute for Quality Development (BEKI). The project is first implemented in the district regions of Tegel-Süd and Auguste-Viktoria-Allee (Ava-Kiez).
strengthening the social infrastructure
In parallel to this initiatives, the KiTa Kinderland in Reinickendorf-Ost is supported by the “Kita Social Work 2024-25” project, which is realized by the living environment. The focus is on low -threshold, preventive support for families with support. The KiTa Kinderland, which has over 253 care places for children from one year to school, offers a modern indoor area and a spacious outdoor area of 1800 m², equipped with numerous play equipment. The aim of daycare social work is to develop social space-oriented social work and strengthen the daycare team. Lebenswelt.de emphasizes that the daycare social workers: take over a pilot function and support families with everyday challenges. The common goal of both projects- the cooperative "go³" and the daycare social work- insists in promoting the individual development of the children, reducing barriers and creating a strong network of advisory and support offers. In addition, a focus is on professional support in crisis situations.
technical exchange and further education
The exchange between the facilities is crucial for the successful implementation of the projects. Information for parents and specialists for the design of the transition between kindergarten and primary school is essential. New forms of cooperation between these educational institutions are becoming increasingly important in order to develop sustainable concepts for early learning. How the information on bildungsserver.de illustrates, the transition affects not only the children, but also their parents, the facilities themselves and the committed specialists.
The term of the "Geh³" project ends on June 14, 2030 and is controlled by a central committee of representatives of the TK, BEKI, the coordination center for children and family poverty, QPK and the coordination school- youth welfare health in Reinickendorf. The long-term vision of both projects is the systematic integration of educational and health goals in the district to promote equal opportunities and resilience for all children in Reinickendorf.
