Blocking of the under the linden trees: traffic jams and chaos in Berlin!

On March 25, 2025, the central traffic axis under the Linden in Berlin will be completely closed for several hours. This measure takes place as part of the constituent meeting of the new German Bundestag, which takes place on this day. From 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., the road between Friedrichstrasse and Spandauer Straße will be closed to vehicle traffic. Safety measures are extensive due to the political event, especially in the blocked area and its surroundings.

currently Berlin has almost four million inhabitants and even if there is a well -developed local transport network, many people still use the car for their everyday life. In the Rush Hour, both in the morning and in the afternoon, there are often considerable traffic jams on the default streets. The blocking among the linden trees is likely to lead to further traffic disruptions this Tuesday.

traffic jam and traffic situation

Even before the block, there were numerous traffic jams and traffic disruptions in other parts of the city. According to current traffic reports, the B96A and other main roads are particularly affected. For example, there is a traffic jam between Vinetastrasse and Mühlenstraße with an expected loss of time of 25 minutes. There are also delays of about 18 minutes between Mollstraße and Stralauer Straße.

Here is an overview of the latest traffic jams in Berlin:

route time loss
Vinetastrasse - Mühlenstraße (B96a) 25 minutes
Mollstraße - Stralauer Straße (L1153) 18 minutes
Wilhelmsruher Damm - Lengeder Straße (L1040) 17 minutes
Prenzlauer Allee - Schönhauser Allee (L1004) 15 minutes
Karl-Marx-Allee-Fischerinsel (B1) 14 minutes

The traffic situation is expected to be tightened by the blocking of under the linden trees. Drivers are urgently advised to bypass the area by noon, since smaller parallel roads are unable to take up additional traffic. Especially on the French road, which runs in parallel to Unter den Linden, is calculated with increased vehicle volume.

In large parts of the center, increased traffic is to be expected, which could become a major challenge for commuters and residents. It is therefore advisable to use alternative means of transport or plan the route differently to avoid traffic disabilities.

For further planning of the pendulum distances, the current traffic reports on stumeller-karte.de can be viewed regularly. As already mentioned, the blocking will have a significant impact on all traffic in the city center, and careful planning is necessary to avoid unnecessary losses in time.
