On this year's nationwide "Girls’- and Boys'day campaign day, the Spandau town hall opened its doors for schoolchildren between the ages of 13 and 19 for the third time, mainly from Spandau. Over 60 young people took the opportunity to get insights into the professional offers of the Berlin city administration. The district councilor for youth, health and provisional for order, Tanja Franzke, emphasized the importance of the day to encourage young people to think beyond gender clichés and get to know different professions.

The participants were able to get to know various professions during their visit to the Spandau district office and take a taste of everyday work. In addition to insights by district mayor Frank Luit and other city councilors, they also got to know the processes of political decision -making processes during a business game. Among other things, the young people were able to get to know manual activities at the district gardeners and even take a seat in an excavator. Professions such as surveying technicians were also presented, including practical exercises.

Overall, the Spandau district office presented over 20 different professional fields to the participants of the action day. The Girls’- and Boys’day aims to overcome gender clichés and to expand the professional selection spectrum of young people. The success of this year's campaign day is to be continued next year in order to bring pupils and students closer to the diversity of professions in the district administration.

A table with information about the various professions presented at the event could give readers a better overview:

| Profession | Description |
| ——————- | ——————————————————————————- |
| District gardener | Care and design of green areas |
| Surveying technician | Measuring and calculating space for construction projects |
| Librarian | Administration and organization of libraries |
| Bootwart | Maintenance and maintenance of boats |

Girls’- and Boys’Day is a way to be interested in young people at an early stage for different professions and to overcome gender clichés. The day of action helps to raise awareness of the diversity of the professional world and to support the career choice of young people.
