Spam 2025: Old music meets historical backdrops in Spandau

The historical charm of Spandau becomes the perfect stage for the highly expected festival Spam - Spandau makes old music. In February 2025, the Spandau citadel, which is considered the best preserved Renaissance festival in Europe, will again be the scene of world-class performances! Here the sounds of great masters like Bach and Vivaldi develop in the majestic rooms of this impressive fortress, which have more than just walls - they tell stories!

On February 21, 2025, the festival is heralded with a sensational opening by Continuum under the direction of Elina Albach. The Italian farms, a true pearl of the citadel, invite you to enjoy stream in 1725 in an acoustics that takes your breath away from the audience! The brick walls and the unique atmosphere of these festivals are the ideal framework for an unforgettable musical experience.

The treasures of the citadel

In the impressive Gothic hall, which is known not only because of its architecture, but also because of its great acoustics, the loud Compagney Berlin will shine on March 2, 2025 with its interpretation of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons". Here music comes to life - every tone is a pleasure for the senses!

And that's not all! On March 4, 2024, the Berlin Baroque Compagney will present fascinating baroque music under the title "Bach under bust", a place full of history. Surrounded by statues that shape Berlin's city history, this evening becomes a real highlight of the festival!

In the old barracks, an impressive 19th century building, the earliest known stage work of a woman, "La Liberazione" by Francesca Caccini, will be performed on March 7, 2024. History comes alive here when big talents meet and kidnap the audience in times.
