Photovoice exhibition: insights into Asian life in Berlin

The Society for Psychosocial Health Promotion in Migrant groups, especially from Asian cultural areas (Gepgemi e.V.), organizes a photovoice exhibition in the pillar hall of the town hall Spandau in cooperation with the representative for participation and integration of the Spandau district office. The exhibition offers interesting insights into Asian culture and Asian life in Berlin. It can be visited from 09.02.2024 to 23.02.2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday).

The project "Asian active - for a life without discrimination!" worked with mothers and young people to research the cohesion in the migration society of Berlin and to discuss the well -being of migrant mothers, their children and young people. The participants visited photovoice workshops over a period of three months, in which they take photos on specific aspects. These photos offer insights into their living environments, perceptions, worries and wishes in a profound and profound way.

The photovoice exhibition "How do we feel in the migration society?-Living environments of migrant parents and young adults" presents the impressive work of both groups. The exhibition is intended to promote a better understanding in the migration society.

The project "Asian active" - for a life without discrimination! " is a model project for the diversity design of the federal program "Live democracy!". Discrimination and racism experiences of the Asian-read people, especially the first generation, are taken up as part of this project. The event is borne by Gepgemi e.V., which wants to contribute to improving a fair social and health participation of the Asian migrant groups through various projects.
