Reading day in Reinickendorf: Stories open children's worlds
Reading day in Reinickendorf: Stories open children's worlds
Sensational! On November 15th was the nationwide reading day, and the youth welfare office Reinickendorf set a bright sign for early childhood education that is impressive! For the second time, the committed team in this institution grabbed the best children's books and visited the smallest citizens of the district in their day care facilities. It was not only read here, but heart was conquered!
Among the proud supporters were none other than Alexander Ewers, the district councilor for youth and family from the SPD, and Claudia Schütz, the director of the youth welfare office. Together they emphasized: "Reading is one of the most important prerequisites for education and future opportunities for children. It is great that employees from different specialist areas support this campaign and open doors to new worlds. This initiative shows: Stories combine young and old." Wow, what a strong message!
enthusiasm for small and large
The atmosphere was electrifying! The readers had carefully selected books in their luggage, including "the owl with the bump" and together with the adventures of a small bear that is awakened. The young listeners - at the age of one to three years - captivated these stories! The joy of reading was immediately doubled with hands -on books: the small imitated noises, commented on the animal adventures and didn't seem to get enough of reading. Yes, more stories, please!
This event makes it clear: reading aloud is an essential part of the pedagogical work in day care. The youth welfare office knows that language support is the cornerstone for later educational success! All participants agree - the next reading pleasure is already targeting on November 21st next year. The anticipation is huge!
A small approach: education begins with stories and the influence of these stories can last for a lifetime. A wonderful world full of possibilities opens up and we can't come around it to celebrate it!
