New schoolyard in the Märkisches Viertel: A place for learning and leisure
A radiant day for education in the Märkisches Viertel! Yesterday the newly designed school yard of the Hannah Höch campus was inaugurated with an impressive ceremony. The highlight? The ceremonial cutting of the tape on the new climbing tower! Here, ecological, inclusive and leisure-oriented design meets the latest learning and playing opportunities. A true paradise for students - and a real treasure for the whole community!
District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner (CDU) did not miss the joy and praised the new area: "The new schoolyard is a fantastic example of how we develop the quality of life in our district. This campus is far more than just a school premises-it is a central part of our district community and embodies the diversity and openness of the Märkische Zour!" A statement that impressively underlines the importance of this educational institution.
a dream for big and small
The redesign of the schoolyard leaves no children's dreams unfulfilled! For elementary school students there is now a huge game tower, an exciting scooter route and a balancing course that promotes movement and skill. Older students, on the other hand, can look forward to table tennis plates and a basketball zone - the perfect place for chilling and for sporting activities. In addition, cozy chill areas with seating islands and hammocks have created the oasis of relaxation. And the best? The popular "Theater" was also upgraded and now offers space for even more creative ideas.
a milestone for school
The ambitious project comprises several construction phases and was supported with an impressive budget of around 1.35 million euros from the "Sustainable Renewal" program. The groundbreaking ceremony fell in July 2023, and school operations were continuous during the construction period. Today we can proudly announce that this important project has been successfully completed.
This new school yard design is not only a win for the Hannah Höch campus, but also a strong sign for the development of the educational landscape in Reinickendorf. It ensures an environment in which learning, playing and relaxing hand-in the sense of individual support and performance orientation, for which the Hannah Höch School is known.
