New works of art in the Graphothek Berlin: Exhibition from February 2024
From February 2, 2024, artists will have the opportunity to discover the latest collections of the Graphothek Berlin in the Rathaus-Galerie Reinickendorf. The Graphothek Berlin is the oldest and largest art library in Germany and will present a variety of high -quality print graphics, drawings, photographs and paintings of contemporary artists.
Last year, impressive photographs by the artist Umbo, who studied at the Bauhaus in Weimar, were acquired. The recordings show scenes from America in the early 1950s that the German photographer traveled to at the invitation of the American government. Another highlight in the presentation is the drawings of the artist Nora Mesaros, who received the Young Art Association in 2022.
The exhibition also works by Thomas Bayrle, Viktoria Binschtok, Hanna Hennenkemper, Friederike Jäger, Kerstin Kartscher, Misaki Kawai, Simone Kornfeld, Yvette Kießling, Ursula Niehaus-Eindenbirken, Marcel Odenbach, Ev Pommer, Sebastian Riemer, Christian Schellenberger, Eske Schlüters, Gundula Schulze Present Eldowy and Paul Spengemann.
The Graphothek Berlin enables art lovers to borrow original works of art for a small fee for a period of up to one year. The inventory comprises almost 6000 works with a focus on classical modernity and contemporary art. All of the work presented are also available for loan after the end of the exhibition.
The vernissage of the exhibition will take place on February 1, 2024 at 6.30 p.m. in the Rathaus-Galerie Reinickendorf. The exhibition period extends from February 2 to May 2, 2024. Admission is free, and opening times are from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Rathaus-Galerie Reinickendorf can be easily reached with the U8 Rathaus Reinickendorf.
