Progress in clearing up storm damage in Reinickendorf!

On August 14, 2025, there was encouraging progress in the restoration following the storm damage in the Reinickendorf district. The Berlin Police Technical Unit is currently carrying out tree care work on Blankenfelder Chaussee, in the Lübars district. During these works there will be traffic restrictions, which are necessary to ensure safety standards during these measures. This tree care is part of comprehensive infrastructure restoration efforts following recent weather events.

In addition, the Greenwich promenade will undergo a final inspection. If this process is successful, the popular promenade could soon be open to the public again. The Reinickendorf district office will inform citizens about the exact time of reopening.

Reopening of facilities

In further good news, Heiligensee Cemetery and Benjamin Franklin High School are now fully open and accessible without restrictions. These facilities, which were affected by the storm damage, are now available to citizens again.

The infrastructure measures include the repair of 55 damaged areas in the sidewalk and roadway area, with 14 sidewalks having already been successfully restored. In addition, 52 milling jobs were commissioned and 25 sidewalk repairs were initiated to further improve traffic safety in the district.

Significance of the measures for the population

The ongoing maintenance and restoration work is of great importance to local residents. The silver advances in infrastructure not only increase safety on the roads, but also improve the quality of life for residents in the Reinickendorf district. Against this background, it is important that citizens are informed about all developments.

The current information makes it clear how important technical and infrastructural measures are for the resilience of a city. It is therefore crucial that citizens remain informed about progress and actively participate in the restoration of public facilities.
