Michael Tsokos, as the best-known forensic doctor in Germany, enjoys a broad awareness through bestsellers, documentaries and social media presence with hundreds of thousands of followers. Despite his influential position and expertise, he emphasized that forensic medicine and pathology are fundamentally different. Tsokos came into contact with the sight of deceased early in his childhood, which established his tendency to forensic medicine. His career brought him to the Charité in Berlin, where he acted as head of the forensic medicine, but loosened from this position at the end of last year.

In an interview, Tsoko's concerns about the increasing politicization of the Charité and emphasized the negative effects on medical independence and teaching tasks during corona pandemic.
