A delegation of German scout associations takes part in the World Scout Conference (WSC), which takes place in Cairo from August 17th to 23rd. A total of 14 scouts from all over Germany are represented by the interests of 170,000 scouts in the largest youth movement in the world. In addition, Germany provides a candidate for the election to the world director of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
The World Conference takes place for the 43rd time this year and is the highest resolving body of the scouts. Representatives from 175 nations come together to advise on important future decisions.
Christine Pollithy is again running for the world director
Among the German delegates is also Christine Pollithy from Berlin, who, after her first three -year -old mandate, again runs for Germany as a member of the voluntary world board. The 32-year-old describes her motivation by working for a relevant scout environment in which young people can do positive changes for both themselves and for the world.
The future of finding the path in the focus
The World Conference will make important course for the future of global path. In addition to the adoption of a new vision and a strategy with prioritization for the WOSM, the future of major events at the world level, the inclusion of new member associations and the standardization of youth protection concepts are also discussed.
Christine Pollithy has significantly participated in the development of a new event strategy that was required in Korea due to the broken World Scout Jamboree 2023.
