Pankow weeks against racism 2024: Diverse program planned

The Pankow weeks against racism in 2024 are imminent and the “Pankow against racism” network is planning a variety of events and actions from March 11th to 24th to draw attention to racism and discrimination in society. According to Andreas Ziehl from the Pankower register registration office, there are many incidents of everyday racism in the district, which can lead to threats and attacks. District Mayor Dr. Cordelia Koch emphasizes the importance of a common commitment to racism and invites citizens: inside the various activities and offers in the district libraries and centers.

The kick -off event on March 12th in the Buch district library offers a varied program with promotions for all age groups. It is played for tolerance and diversity, read Ghanisch-German stories, an exhibition opened with an XXL original boat and the film "Women Make Our History" is shown, followed by a conversation with the protagonist: inside. Various clubs and initiatives present their offers and there is live music to round off the day.

In addition to the events in the libraries, action days take place in different districts, in which racism -critical perspectives are to be developed and local Engagement against racism is to be strengthened. These campaign days are accompanied by hands-on activities, performances, live music and exchange offers.
