On May 27, the 14th training day of Pankow & Lichtenberg took place in the Vienna House by Wyndham Andel’s Berlin, in which over 70 exhibitors were represented. The event was organized in collaboration with the job centers, the career counseling and the employer service of the North and Mitte Employment Agency, the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family and the Youth Association Berlin. On May 27, the 14th training day of Pankow & Lichtenberg took place in the Vienna House by Wyndham Andel’s Berlin, in which over 70 exhibitors were represented. The event was organized in collaboration with the job centers, the career counseling and the employer service of the North and Mitte Employment Agency, the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family and the Youth Association Berlin. Over 2,300 pupils: inside the 8th, 9th and 10th class as well as searching young people were able to find out about professions, training and internships and exchange ideas with potential employers.
The career selection was broad, from service and administrative professions to craft, IT and media to health and social professions. The event served to promote the professional orientation of young people and to improve the skilled workers in the region. The district mayor of Pankow, Dr. Cordelia Koch, and the district mayor of Lichtenberg, Martin Schaefer, praised the diversity and quality of the training opportunities.
Wolfgang Steinherr, CEO of the Berlin Mitte Employment Agency, emphasized the importance of solid training for a successful future. The training day enabled the pupil: Inside from Lichtenberg and Pankow not only the encounter with training companies, but also personal advice and orientation in their career choice.
The youth professionals and job centers actively participated in the organization and implementation of the training day in order to support young people in their professional orientation. The event included information stands, lectures and competitions in which the participants were able to present their impressions from the training day.
Successful participation in the training day offered young people the opportunity to win prices and to secure an internship or apprenticeship position. The organizers were full of praise for the commitment of the exhibitors and participants and emphasized the importance of such events for the professional development of young people in Pankow and Lichtenberg.
