The East German railway company (ODEG) is putting its repaired regional trains back into operation. After failures and disorders, four of the eight trains will be reinstated from Tuesday. The complete fleet will be available again from August 1st.

The disorders had led about two weeks ago to temporarily pull the trains out of circulation. Above all, problems with the air conditioning systems had noticed. With the relatively new trains from the manufacturer Alstom, the air conditioning technology did not work in the required quality. The defects were particularly evident at high summer temperatures.

Alstom had confirmed that a new generation of air conditioning technology was installed on the two -month -old trains that did not work continuously. The problems were only found in regular passenger operation.

The ODEG is a private railway company that operates regional transport in Brandenburg, Berlin, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. It offers numerous connections between different cities and municipalities and plays an important role in local transport.

By resuming the repaired regional trains, passengers can again rely on reliable transport. The ODEG emphasizes that it does everything to fix the problems with the air conditioning systems permanently and to ensure smooth passenger operation.
