On April 8th, the international day of the Roma is celebrated worldwide, which is reminiscent of the first World Roma Congress in 1971. This day is intended to draw attention to the situation of the Roma, in particular on their discrimination and persecution, as well as the culture of this ethnic minority. In Berlin, district mayor Martin Hikel and representative: inside of the Amaro foro e. V. Roma flags at the Neukölln town hall to set an example against anti-Ziganism.
The Roma, also known as Sinti*Zze and Rome*Nja, are still experiencing discrimination and marginalization, be it in the form of prejudices or social exclusion. This year's campaign day in Berlin will take place on April 8, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. on the town hall forecourt of the town hall Neukölln, Karl-Marx-Straße 83, 12040 Berlin.
