New opening of the Hax’nhaus: Tradition meets fresh wind in Alt-Tegel
in Reinickendorfer Straße, where the popular Hax’nhaus in Alt-Tegel once had its doors, many regular guests have perceived the sudden loss of the traditional restaurant. After 27 years, Mirko Perleberg had to close the restaurant - a bitter blow not only for him, but also for the many loyal visitors who enjoyed good German food and sociable evenings. But now there is reason to be happy, because the Hax’nhaus has a new owner and recently opened up.
On Friday, August 16, the Hax’nhaus, now shone under the name "Haxnhaus Tegernseer Tönnchen", in new splendor. Aleksandar Talevski, the 44-year-old operator, opened the doors to the cult local again. The response of the guests was consistently positive. "It was full of the days," Talevski reported after the first few days. The new opening brought with it some challenges because there were problems with the cash register system initially, but overall the start seemed to be running smoothly.
traditional and fresh
Despite the new name and the fresh face of the operator, the ambience of the Hax’nhaus was largely preserved. The cozy facility continues to remind you of the traditional tavern, in which the guests feel comfortable. However, the kitchen was completely renewed behind the scenes, and new employees were hired to offer the guests the usual service.
An advantage that regular guests could quickly notice is the price adjustment. "It should have become cheaper in the Hax’nhaus," said the new owner. Especially with beer and some dishes, the price fell by one to two euros. Nevertheless, the menu remained essentially unchanged, with 95 percent of the courts that are known to the guests. Schnitzel, roast pork and the popular pork knuckles are still on the menu, and the rustic atmosphere has been preserved.
insight into the future
The past has shown that traditional German cuisine in Berlin is always asked. Talevski, who has already successfully operates the "Tegernseer Tönnchen" in Wilmersdorf, is optimistic that the Hax’nhaus is also facing a blooming future. "Everyone is closing. People are looking for German dishes," he explains, emphasizing that he has no doubt that his new restaurant will be well received by the guests.
The reopening of the Hax’nhaus not only represents a return to proven values, but also offers a new beginning for the seats that are filled with stories and memories. For many it is not just a restaurant, but a piece of home that has now been revived. Visitors can look forward to good German home cooking and the familiar cosiness-an essential part of Berlin's catering life that is continued here.
