The eleven AOKs in Germany have published their latest transparency reports - a compulsory exercise that has thrown an increased light on the performance and quality of health care for over 27 million insured persons. Dr. Carola Reimann, the CEO of the AOK federal association, emphasizes: "For our insured persons, it is essential to get a clear picture of how we acted last year. Transparency creates trust!"

The extensive documents that can now be called up on AOK.de not only offer comprehensive data at processing times, contradictions and complaints - you are now also enriched with current information on digital advice! On over 40 pages, insured persons are enabled a deep understanding of the AOK services.

More and more competitors are following and also publish their own transparency reports. "The more people get an insight into this information, the more we strengthen health literacy in the population," says Reimann, pleased about the positive development. With the consideration of obliging statutory health insurance companies to publish transparency reports, the debate about the need for information in health care is also fueled.
The draft law to strengthen health care in the municipalities also brings a challenge. Reimann notes: "There are still many open questions that urgently need to be clarified. Some of the key figures provided seem not very useful or cannot be easily lifted." The AOK is ready to make this process constructively and to insist on compliance with high standards.
"We want to pay valids that actually offer our insured added value," continued the AOK boss.
