A competition of ideas at the highest level: The 1st Construction Contest brought together the best heads in the construction industry!
Over 100 companies from the DACH region have applied to present the best solutions for sustainable and affordable building. And now, after intensive pitches in front of a top -class jury, the radiant winners have been determined! The winners have now been chosen in the categories of building materials, construction and innovative manufacturing techniques. From May 2024, start-ups and established companies were able to submit their ingenious products-the competition was huge!

In the category "building materials", the company Kimm building materials prevailed! Susanne Fröhlich and Stefan Schmatz presented their groundbreaking clay stones - Conclay! These environmentally friendly miracle things are not only sustainable, but also a real contribution to sustainable building! Made by means of innovative processes in a stone mill, put the end of conventional construction site waste!
of the "Construction" category crowned Stramen.tec! Eckhardt Dauck and Claus Fischer present drywall systems that make the construction of interior walls into child's play - no cavities, no stand, just pure innovation! Over 10 times shockproof than the standard and free of CO2 emissions, this approach sets new standards for a greener construction!
Special appreciation for future -oriented ideas
But that wasn't everything! Two companies were awarded special mentions because they revolutionize the industry with their innovations! Aerogel-IT under the direction of Dr. Marc Fricke relies on the spectacular properties of aerogels, originally developed for space travel - now a hit in thermal insulation! And the company bton with Thomas Demmel and Henry Werkmeister uses climate -positive concrete to help the construction industry when it comes to decarbonization. Impressive!
Daniel Riedl, Chief Development Officer from Vonovia, is thrilled and emphasized: "These solutions are not only innovative, they are ready for the market! Together we want to test them in practice and thus make our contribution to fewer resource and CO2 use!"
55,000 apartments across Germany are already being planned. Particularly noteworthy: at least 20 percent of these new construction projects are realized with wood. The trend towards sustainable and affordable living space is absorbed!
