The incident occurred when the 19-year-old tourist was traveling on the sidewalk of Hedemannstrasse around 10:15 p.m. together with his 18-year-old companion. Suddenly a car with four inmates stopped next to them. One of the men spoke to the tourists, who did not understand the question due to a lack of knowledge of German. The young man was then suddenly beaten by one from the group. When the tourist was lying on the floor, the attackers continued. Then they got back into the car and drove away. The 19-year-old later visited a rescue center with his uninjured companion where his mild injuries were treated on the arm and face.

Schmöckwitz: Overtaking maneuver ends at traffic sign

Another incident occurred in Schmöckwitz, a district of Treptow-Köpenick. A 60-year-old man crashed into a traffic sign here by car and was seriously injured. The man tried to overtake the car in front of him and collided with the traffic sign. Witnesses provided first aid and released the seriously injured out of the car. He was taken to a hospital for inpatient treatment and operated on. The 27-year-old driver of the other car was not injured. The investigation into the incident continues.
