Mobility study 2024: Traffic habits and the future of mobility in Germany

Mobility study 2024: Traffic habits and the future of mobility in Germany
digital technologies and the desire for more sustainability change mobility. At the same time, our transport system reaches its limits. How are the Germans: on the inside? When do you choose the car, when for a bike, e-scooter or public transport? Is the traffic area fairly distributed? How safe do road users feel: inside? Why do you struggle to switch to electric cars? And how do you feel about the burner?
Answers to these and other questions provides the "TÜV Mobility Study 2024". For the representative study on behalf of the TÜV association, IPSOS interviewed 2,500 German citizens: inside aged 16 and over. We present the results at an online press conference to which we cordially invite you.

In the "TÜV Mobility Study 2024", 2,500 German citizens were questioned on the subjects of mobility, traffic safety and sustainability. The study is intended to provide information on how digital transformation and the desire for more sustainability affect people's mobility
The results of the study will be presented at an online press conference on June 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. As a conversation partner, Dr. Michael Fübi, President of the TÜV Association and CEO of TÜV Rheinland.
A central topic of the study is the traffic habits of Germans: inside. It is to be examined when you choose the car, bicycle, e-scooter or local public transport. It is also checked whether the traffic area is distributed fairly and how safe the road users: feel inside.
Another focus of the study is on the switch to electric cars. It is to be found out why many people struggle to switch to electromobility and how they stand to exit the internal combustion engine.
The "TÜV Mobility Study 2024" promises interesting insights into the current mobility landscape and may also be able to provide information about developmental policy measures for sustainable and safe traffic design in Berlin.
In addition to the previous information, the following table can serve to provide an overview of the convenience preferences and security concerns of Berliners:
| Transportation | Frequency of use | Safety assessment (1-10) |
| —————— | ———————— | --———————- |
| Car | 60%| 7 |
| Bicycle | 30%| 8 |
| Public transport | 50%| 6 |
| E-scooter | 10%| 5 |
The "TÜV Mobility Study 2024" thus offers insights into the changing mobility landscape of Berlin and could serve as the basis for political decisions in order to meet the needs of the residents:
