Bullying drama at the Carl Bolle School: A teacher is fighting back!

Carl-Bolle-Grundschule, 10179 Berlin, Deutschland - Again and again cases of bullying and discrimination are known in schools, but the case of Oziel Inacio-Stech at the Carl Bolle primary school in Berlin-Mitte catches the eye. Inacio-Stech, who has been working as a pedagogical teaching aid and diversity officer since 2016, reported on months of insults and threats by students. The incidents that mostly happened due to its homosexuality were public in early 2025 by media reports, where they again fueled the debate about discrimination in education, such as [rbb24] (https://www.rbb24.de/panorama/-2025/06/carl-bolle-schule-vorwuerfe-mobbing- teacher-chronology.html) reported.

A particularly serious incident occurred in May 2023 when Inacio-Stech was massively insulted and threatened during class. An application for a diversity workshop as a prevention measure was completely objected to by the school management. This was done just a few months before further incidents in which a teacher expressed complaints about the interaction between Inacio-Stech and his students in two separate situations.

reactions and legal steps

In conversation with the school management, Inacio-Stech was advised to keep a distance from the students in order to avoid rumors. He rejected the allegations and submitted a lawsuit against the teacher for a bad recovery. His situation continued to escalate when on September 3, 2024, he submitted an application for a procedure for violating the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG). In the further course, his lawyer filed a criminal complaint on September 11, 2024 due to violations of his duty of care by the school management, which also complicated the matter.

The allegations against Inacio-Stech were ultimately revoked by the children responsible for the investigation. They stated that the statements had been talked to them by the complainant teacher. Although the procedure was discontinued in November 2024, Inacio-Stech continued to complain to school supervision after his requests for rehabilitation and a meeting with the educational senator were rejected.

discrimination in the education sector

The case of Inacio-Stech is symptomatic of a bigger problem in the German education system. According to the [anti-discrimination agency of the federal] (https://www.antidiskriminungsstelle.de/de/ueber-diskrimination/lebens-ägäge/bildungengegege- und-node.html), experiences of discrimination in daycare centers, schools and universities are widespread and often occur in the form of verbal attacks and bullying. The AGG offers certain protection against disadvantage, but in many areas, especially in public schools, leaves legal gaps that affect the protective mechanisms for students and students.

In the case of Inacio-Stech, it becomes clear how important it is that schools take effective measures in order to actively combat discrimination and to provide support for teachers affected. The need for a revision of the existing school laws and a stronger recognition of the discrimination problem are urgent to protect the rights of everyone involved.
