hydrogen: Habeck hands over funding notices to Get H2 Partner
In a significant ceremony in Berlin, Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck today handed over funding notices worth around 4.6 billion euros to 22 hydrogen projects in Germany. This is intended to promote electrolysis systems for the production of green hydrogen, hydrogen lines and cavern stores. Particularly noteworthy are the eleven partners of the Get H2 initiative, who also benefit from this funding.
The funds are provided as part of the Hy2infra wave of the IPCEI program (Important Projects of Common European Interest). "This is a significant day that brings together the various building blocks for the hydrogen economy. From now on it is being shattered and bumped," said Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck in the press conference.
The funding notices are an important step for the ride of the hydrogen economy in Germany. They enable companies to further promote their projects and make investment decisions. The companies had already done a lot of personal contribution, and the funding notices were the last component that was missing for the final implementation.
The funded projects of the GET H2 Partner Air Liquide, BP, Creos, Hydrogenious and Linde as well as Thyssenkrupp Steel, Salzgitter and BASF are part of a larger initiative that drives the creation of a competitive hydrogen market and the implementation of the energy transition.
The funding notices are fined 70 percent by the federal government and 30 percent by the federal states. They help to establish Germany as a pioneer in the hydrogen economy and to pave the way for a low -carbon future.
The Get H2 Initiative, which was launched in 2019, has the goal of establishing the core for a nationwide integrated hydrogen economy and contributing to the efficient implementation of the energy transition. The partners of the initiative are made up of companies, municipalities and institutions and work together on projects to generate, transport and store hydrogen in all sectors.
This funding notice is another step on the way to a sustainable and green hydrogen economy in Germany. The financial support enables companies to put their plans into practice and to establish Germany as a leading market participant in the hydrogen industry.
The hydrogen sector has the potential to become an important part of the energy transition in Germany and Europe. The promotion of hydrogen projects contributes to reducing carbon emissions and represents a clean and sustainable energy source.
The funding notices to the GET H2 partners are a significant step in the right direction and a sign of the progressive expansion of hydrogen technology in Germany.
