Mathematics meet practice: Students research real problems in Aachen
Aachen, October 21, 2024. In the city of Aachen it comes hot! The MINT-EC forum "Computational and Mathematical Modeling Program", better known as "Cammp", inspires young talents this week. 24 pupils from the renowned Excellence network MINT-EC are combined here to crack real economic challenges with sophisticated computer models!
from today until October 23, RWTH Aachen is transformed into a pulsating thought factory. The participants immerse themselves in the fascinating world of mathematical modeling. In the team spirit you work on real problems that are not only exciting, but also effective. Mathematics comes to life here!
practical learning in teams
The students not only learn theory, but also put their knowledge into practice! In teams, they tackle two challenging tasks. Where does the energy of the future come from? What role does artificial intelligence play in our everyday life? The answers are only one click away.
The topics you take up are impressive:
- The Netflix Challenge - How is the next blockbuster predicted?
- Future -based electricity generation - math meets solar energy!
- artificial intelligence on the trail - how do word suggestions help us to chat?
- animation films and mathematics - what is behind the fascinating technology?
A team of scientists from RWTH Aachen is ready to help and advise. With their knowledge and computer programs, they support the young thinkers while they look at the real world through the lens of mathematics.
a network for the future
MINT-EC, the national excellence network, promotes schools with a clear focus on mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology. Founded in 2000, it not only offers participants events and support offers, but also exciting insights into the world of MINT subjects. The network is supported by well -known organizations such as the total metal and the Siemens Foundation.
The participating schools come from all over Germany, from Baden-Württemberg to Rhineland-Palatinate. This shows that interest in MINT issues is growing nationwide!
The event not only promises exciting insights into technology and mathematics, but also an exciting journey into the future of problem solving. Who knows, maybe the next big innovator is sitting here!
