The US election: A spectacle in Mannheim with discussion, science and tension!
On November 5, the old fire station in Mannheim becomes the setting for an exciting event that is all about the US election! The University of Mannheim and the old fire station have put together a fantastic program that begins on election evening and is dedicated to the world of the US political culture. The entry? Absolutely free! Who would have thought?
from 6 p.m. the time has come! Moderated by two professors with real knowledge and influence, Prof. Dr. Stefanie Schäfer and Prof. Dr. Philipp Gassert will take place in a panel discussion in which experts discuss the most pressing questions about the election outcome. This is where specialists from American studies, cultural studies and contemporary history come together!

But that's not all! From 7 p.m. there are concentrated science and fun: there is a fascinating science slam! Four talented researchers will present their studies on the US political culture in an entertaining way. They show that science does not have to be boring!
for the inquisitive among the guests: a pub quiz from 8 p.m. will put the knowledge to the test. Who has the best answers to tricky questions about US politics? The funny thing is guaranteed!
The day after the election, November 6th, it continues! From 12 noon to 2 p.m., the University of Mannheim offers an analysis of the election night, led by David Sirakov from the Atlantic Academy Rhineland-Palatinate. Mannheim students who are currently in the United States are also reported live! And very fresh from Washington, historian Allison StAGG will submit her assessments!
political Berlin experience up close
In addition, the member of the Bundestag Isabel Cademartori, a graduate from the University of Mannheim, will present the first reactions from political Berlin. How is the choice perceived in Germany? It will be exciting!
The event is supported by graduate Mannheim and the State Center for Political Education Baden-Württemberg. Dr. Ana-Sofia Uhl is there as a co-organizer and ensures a smooth process!
