New playgrounds in Lichtenberg: More fun for children at the white pigeon and in Karlshorst

In Lichtenberg, new public playing areas are created due to the continuing influx of families with small children or expanded existing systems. Two projects are to be completed in the first half of the year: The green area "White Taube" in Alt-Hohenschönhausen receives a new play area and a playground is being redesigned and expanded in Karlshorst.

The district councilor for traffic, green spaces, order, environment and nature conservation, Filiz Küllüoğlu (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen), praises the creative ideas of the landscape architect: Inside and planners: Inside the district to improve the playing areas in the district. The redesign of the playground south of Schalkauer Straße 32-34 in Alt-Hohenschönhausen Süd takes place in cooperation with various offices and is intended to offer an appealing and versatile play area, which enables various games such as the climbing combination "White Taube" and the "Giraffenweg". The construction work has already started and should be completed in mid -April

In Karlshorst, the need for game offers is increased due to the new building of residential buildings. Since no other open spaces were available nearby, the Lehndorffstraße/Stallwiese playground is redesigned and expanded. The concept includes the preservation of the natural character of the playing area and the consideration of the vegetation stock. The playground is modeled on a forest character, with various play equipment such as a nest swing, spring ripers, a tower with climbing facilities and an adventure route from wooden and ropes. The construction work should begin from April 29, 2024 and be completed by mid -June.
